These aged industrial shelf brackets are an innovation of our bestselling
bracket. They are made by us, a small family run business set near the idyllic
Sherwood Forest area. In a village straddling the River Trent that can boast a
blacksmithing tradition that goes back centuries. In this way, besides quality
across all our product range, we give unmatched reliability and sincerity.
That’s us, please below for a description of the industrial aged patina shelf
brackets:
These wonderfully unique industrial shelf brackets form part of a new range.
As already mentioned, they're based on one of our bestselling designs but now
available with a real aged copper oxide. To be clear, this is not blue paint or
a faux spray on solution. It is authentic aged copper patina, where through an
innovative process we speed up many years of ageing: giving beautiful blues,
greens, reds and intermingling golds.
Onto the aged surface we season the industrial shelf bracket with a fixing
agent that fixes the aged copper patina to give a glossy hue and a soften feel
to the touch. Please note that due to the nature of the copper shelf bracket
ageing process, no one shelf bracket is going to be exactly the same and
variations in hue can and does occur. However, this unavoidability lends to
greater authenticity.
The copper pipe of the shelf brackets are Ca. 8.5 cm in length and Ca. 8.5 cm
in height; added to this is the cast iron flanges and their hex brass bushings
which sit Ca. 2 cm from the wall/shelf base. This makes the shelf brackets
approximately 10 cm in height and length and perfectly suited for shelves up to
22-24 cm in width. For shelves with a slightly wider width we recommend a
custom cutting, a made to measure industrial shelf bracket*.
Each industrial shelf bracket has two round cast iron flange mounts, each with
a diameter of Ca. 7 cm. The width of the screw you use should ideally be 5 mm;
the screw length will depend on the wall type the industrial shelf brackets are
going to be fixed to. Personally, and this isn't a recommendation as wall
brick/plaster compositions vary, I like to use 5 x 40 mm multi-purpose screw
along with a 3.5-5 mm (red) raw plug; whose hole has been made by a 6 mm
missionary drill bit.
Decorative hexagonal solid brass bushings bolt the copper piping to the cast
iron flanges. They shall arrive ready mounted and bolted tightly with the three
holes configured in such a way that the industrial shelf brackets can easily be
fitted.
*If you require a slightly larger or shorter bracket then let us know. There’s
a £5 extra charge for custom fabrication for these unique shelf brackets. Just
email us your requirements and we’ll send you a link for custom cutting.
