The Gunn Furniture company produced furniture in Grand Rapids, Michigan
beginning in 1874 - 1940's. Throughout its history the company focused on
office furniture and folding beds. This particular 4 stack (four independent
staking containers) has the additional base and top piece. Each piece fits
securely on top of the first. The glass doors rise and slide into the top of
the section to allow access to the contents of that section. The bookcase
measurements are: 32" wide, 50.5" tall, 12" deep.

Label on the back side. Original finish. Base is hand carved lions feet. Circa
1900s

A barrister's bookcase consists of several separate shelf units that may be
stacked together to form a cabinet. When moving chambers, each shelf is carried
separately without needing to remove its contents and becomes a carrying-case
full of books.

CONDITION NOTES
All mechanisms work, open and close, and have all required pieces for the
glass cabinets to work. Minor wear and tear minor scratches and stuff
consistent with the age of the piece. On the back side the veneer is slightly
warbled typical of the age of the piece.
